(2023-2025)Geekstar is my ongoing branding experiment exploring what it means to reclaim "nerd culture" in this day and age. I started it in 2023 after realizing that mainstream geek/nerd identity felt narrow and stereotyped - it didn't reflect the community-driven, creative spirit I associate with technology and online spaces.
I've created four sticker collections (around 4,000 stickers total) plus some small items, and distributed them to friends, classmates, and strangers. Watching people connect with Geekstar and express their own version of nerdiness has been the best part, it reinforces my belief that everyone's a geek about something, and that's worth celebrating. <3
The project ties into broader ideas about digital culture: the internet's early open-source ethos, remix culture, and cyberfeminist approaches to technology. Geekstar is my way of pushing back against how sanitized and corporate tech spaces have become.
